HOW DID WE GET HERE?
Having narrowly avoided closure during the early 2000’s the community centre committee assisted by volunteers from other community groups decided to expand the centre’s horizons and build a vision for the future across the site.
The Local Development Framework had highlighted a need for improvements in local community facilities, so a community consultation and pre-feasibility study were carried out to provide a steer.
Subsequently a full feasibility Report in 2011 made recommendations for improvements to provide:
a replacement for the existing poor and fragmented facilities
a community and voluntary services and drop-in information centre
a venue for cultural, visual and performing arts.

WHERE ARE WE GOING?
To progress the development on a professional business basis a board of Trustees for the Charity was formed in the name of Fakenham Community Campus Trust Ltd.
Despite a number of setbacks with funding bids, the trustees have been successful in accessing over £115k, between 2012 and 2015 for building development, to meet these aspirations.
The Centre now boasts a brand new image with new build and extended facilities which include improvements to the main hall, new meeting rooms and service facilities.
The redevelopment has provided space for an extended programme as well as enabling the introduction of a Community Theatre to expand existing live performance attractions.
WHO KEEPS THE SHOW ON THE ROAD?
The day to day running of the centre is managed by a Board of Trustees and a caretaker. The management committee members are made up of elected representatives from voluntary and community groups, local authorities, Fakenham area residents, an ex officio representative for young people and co-opted members with relevant specialist skills and experience from the business community.
The current Trustees are
Beryl Bratt – Chairman
Janet Holdom – Vice Chairman
Tim Summers – Treasurer
Adrian Vertigan – Bookings Secretary
Adam Vertigan – Caretaker
Currently there are vacancies for elected Resident, Community or Business members and the Youth representative.
Anyone interested in becoming a trustee or getting involved in the development and management of the centre and its activities should contact the secretary at firstname.lastname@example.org
